A Mental Health Expo for 1st generation Korean immigrants was held on November 19, at Holy Name Hospital in New Jersey. Due to language and cultural barriers, Korean American first generation immigrants struggle with mental health issues.
The expo was to address and educate participants on first generation Korean American's mental health issues such as gambling and alcohol addiction, depression, etc. Grace Yoon, Executive Director, served on the panel with nine mental health experts. Jiyeon Lee, LMSW, provided individual counseling to attendents. It was an honor to be part of this great event and to connect with over 200 participants.
