Community Outreach




KAFSC's Community Outreach and Education Department engage with community members to create locally-based solutions to end gender-based domestic violence. The Community Engagement team provides information and training to both service providers and community members about domestic violence, sexual violence, child abuse.


Our staff can conduct these training in English and Korean languages. In addition, KAFSC participates in various community meetings, events, and partnerships throughout the city for the purposes of raising awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault while promoting our advocacy for survivors and the communities we serve.

Annual Events

Annual Benefit Gala

The Annual Benefit Gala occurs every year in April/May. It raises a crucial 30% of the organization's operational funds. Contact us for more information on how you can participate as either a Sponsor, Donor or Volunteer. 

Silent March Against Domestic Violence

Our Silent March occurs annually every October to promote awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault to our communities. It commemorates victims, honors those who survive, and raises hope for those silently suffering. 

Clergy Conference

As part of celebrating the month of May which is the family month for Korean, KAFSC provides a wide variety of topics from the Role of Korean churches in eradicating domestic violence and promoting healthy families to conversations on the community response to ending domestic violence.

Hotline Volunteer
Dispatcher Training

Hotline Volunteer Dispatcher Training prepares individuals to be volunteers for our 24-hour Korean/English bilingual hotline service.  Volunteers gain a deep understanding of challenges and obstacles that survivors of domestic violence face as well as knowledge in information and available resources to help them. We educate volunteers on the following topics:

Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault 
Child and Elder Abuse
Substance Abuse
Basic counseling skills
Guidelines for hotline services
Housing Options & Financial Planning
Legal Advocacy including family law, immigration law, and criminal law
KAFSC's holistic and comprehensive services
