Children & Youth Services

KAFSC's Children and Youth Programs are designed to provide holistic support to children of immigrant parents from low-income families through creative enrichment activities and academic development programs. These programs and activities focus on building self-esteem while improving communication and social skills. KAFSC offers creative and academic programming that enhances, protects, and nurtures the unique development journey of every child and teen.

Hodori (Little Tiger)
After School Program

Hodori (Little Tiger) Afterschool Program has been serving children and families in our community since 1994. Designed for students in grades K–8, the program provides a safe, supportive, and culturally responsive environment where children build confidence, strengthen communication and social skills, and grow academically through engaging, age-appropriate enrichment.

Hodori offers homework help, STEM, literacy, leadership development, team-building activities, sports, field trips, and a variety of choice classes such as coding, film, crochet, violin, dance, taekwondo, and more. The program is available for K–8 students at J.H.S. 189 and grades 6–8 at the East-West School of International Studies, helping students learn, grow, and build lasting friendships.

Youth Community Project Team (YCPT)

The Youth Community Project Team is a youth-led leadership and advocacy program for dedicated high school students in grades 9–12 who are committed to advancing the mission of KAFSC.

Through education on domestic, sexual, and gender-based violence, participants build leadership, teamwork, and public speaking skills while designing and leading community awareness projects.

Students also organize KAFSC's annual Rally Against Sexual Assault (RASA) and earn a KAFSC Certificate of Leadership & Advocacy upon successful completion of the program.
